That's awesome... I
That's awesome... I thoroughly enjoy the EP. I don't know how it is for you, but the frickin' lyrics are always the bottleneck for me. Why is it that music has to have singing in it to not be boring, and that singing must have lyrics written for it because "scatting" sounds stupid? I just want to write music! Probably helps to actually have something to say...
yummie
to Zach: Yeah, that sounds great. Looking forward to it. I really liked the EP (one of my favorite cd's actually). Not that I mind if the album is going to be quite different. Good luck!
to delmonte: Lyrics aren't a problem for me.
I'm happy about my piano playing skills (had lessons for years), but wanted to create something myself and didn't start earlier with it than 1.5 years ago (I'm 22 years old now). I didn't know a thing about creating music as I always played stuff other people wrote, so I had to start at point 0.
I'm making progress, but kind of slowly at the moment. I also found out i'm not a complete window breaker when it comes to singing, but I haven't succeeded in creating a song with vocals and piano without making the piano part far too simple.
I can write hundreds of song lyrics, but the problem is at this point I don't know how to combine piano and voice in a decent way. I guess it just takes time to find out.
About you having difficulties with writing lyrics: Maybe it helps if you just write down complete nonsense. Eventually you'll come up with something that makes sense, is funny or just fits in.
to Zach again: As I am already drifting away from the topic: you guys (Pinback that is) rocked when I saw you play in Utrecht (NL) in 2004.
