Sytems Officer began as my solo project with my first release being a self titled E.P. in april of 2004. With no time to concentrate on the band becuase of my commitment to Pinback S.O. was layed to rest, and gathered dust over a quiet 5 year period. I finally found some free time and energy after releasing Pinback’s Autumn of the Seraphs in 2007 to focus on a full length S.O. album named ” Underslept ” which was released in 2009 . again unable to apply the energy I wanted to the project it went back on the shelf.
With time just flying by year in and year out I decided I couldn’t live with myself or the idea anymore of S.O. just being a once in awhile project. I had always wanted it to be a full fledge fuctioning band recording records on a regular basis and touring. I’ve always wanted to put the time and energy into the band that I truly never had the opportunity to do in the past. No more I say ! I’ve recruited two close friends in Chris Prescott who is Pinback’s drummer and Kenseth Thibideau a past member of pinback both great musicians in their own right to join me in molding Systems Officer into something special. Yes S.O. is finally getting a fair shake at becoming something more then just a project. we’ve already been practicing like mad!
our first order of business is to hit the road . we will be playing a string of shows on the west coast this sept 2011. more info to come… hope to see ya out there!
